Nestled on the banks of beautiful Lake Norman are the towns of Cornelius, Davidson, and Huntersville. These charming towns bring you adventures of all shapes and sizes including animal encounters, living history, upscale shopping, NASCAR, fishing and of course, plenty of water play! Located only 15 miles from uptown Charlotte, Lake Norman is THE place for fun in the sun - and Visit Lake Norman is your ultimate resource!
Created in 1963 by Duke Energy, Lake Norman is 34 miles long with 520 miles of shoreline and offers numerous attractions to explore. The Lake Norman area offers a mild, four-season climate making it perfect for year-round adventures!
Visit Lake Norman's primary objective is to promote and market our three towns and Lake Norman as a tourist destination. We also represent and support the interests of local tourism industry and promote public awareness of the importance of tourism. We are funded by a portion of the room occupancy tax and restaurant food tax. Stop by our Visitor Center to receive visitor information on hotels, restaurants, attractions and other things to do in our area. We are eager to help you in any way.
