I purchased Oakdale in 2007 but it has been in existence since 1980.
What is your primary product or service?
Two major lines - (1) Retail sales of tropical indoor house plants and outdoor landscaping shrubs/trees (2) Plant rentals - short-term events
How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Lifelong hobby with roses, orchids & bonsai.My background was as a CPA and Business executive management from 1977 through 2007.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
Larger and more diverse inventory of tropical indoor house plants. Plant rentals for events such as conventions, business events, parties, weddings, and graduations.
How many locations do you have and do you have plans to expand?
One location. No immediate plans to expand.

Location is 5626 Statesville Road, Charlotte: Proceeding on I-85 North - Take Exit 39 (Statesville Ave./Rd.). At traffic light @ end of ramp, turn left (North) on Statesville Road. Proceed 1.6 miles. Turn right into Oakdale Greenhouses parking lot. Proceeding on I-85 Sorth - Take Exit 39 (Statesville Ave./Rd.). At traffic light @ end of ramp, turn right (North) on Statesville Road. Proceed 1.6 miles. Turn right into Oakdale Greenhouses parking lot. Proceeding on I-77 North - Exit 13A (I-85 North exit). While still on ramp, bear right onto Statesville Ave./Rd. ramp. Merge to left lane on exit ramp. At traffic light @ end of ramp, turn left (North) on Statesville Road. Proceed 1.6 miles. Turn right into Oakdale Greenhouses parking lot. Proceeding on I-77 South - Exit 16A (North 21 - Sunset Rd. East....careful...since Exit 16A is second 16 exit. Merge on to Sunset Rd. Proceed .7 mile to second traffic light, and turn right on Statesville Rd. Proceed .9 miles and Oakdale Greenhouses is on left. Must do U-turn past median and then turn right into Oakdale Greenhouses parking lot.
