Academy Mechanical Repair Inc

Went through American Home Shield to fix my HVAC. They sent out Academy Mechanical Repair Inc. who came out several times to evaluate a bad damper/actuator. After stating they had ordered the part and never showing up to install it, we finally contacted them and they stated they hadn't ordered the part. They then said the part was no longer made and that they would need to manufacture a part to fix it. Because it required "modification" the insurance company would only pay for the part and not the modification. That modification totaled $410 directly out of my pocket. Went online and found the part for $169. When I called Academy Mechanical back and told them I located the part they changed their tune and said what they meant to say was "the supplier where they order their parts" doesn't carry it. I asked them if they could order the part and they refused to do so. I also asked to talk to the owner who was conveniently out each time I called and has refused to return my call. Completely unethical. This company has no qualms about taking $410 unnecessarily. Stay aaaawaaaaaay!!!!
